Christmas during the hottest time of the year – backing & decorating ten trays of X-mess cookies really rubs that in!

 Christmas lunch number one at neighbour Mme Binkie.

 

By now our vegetable garden gives us something to harvest. As usual the kouseband is by far the best producer.

 Sambal boontjies; string beans in coconut sauce; beans & shrimps; boontjes, aardappels, mosterdsaus; and etcetera…

 

Meanwhile the roof terrace on top of our bedroom is finally getting roofed. Next summer we’ll sleep outside!

All summer the yard is swarming with huge walking sticks.
